Vegetable Samosa
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Serves 6-7
Ingredients:
1/2 kg maida (all-purpose) flour
1/2 kg onions, chopped
50g green chilies, chopped
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp seeds
1 kg potatoes, boiled, peeled & mashed
1 lime
A pinch of turmeric
Method:
1-Sieve the flour with salt and make a soft dough using little water.
2-Keep aside for 30-40 minutes.
3-Heat oil in a pan and season with mustard and seeds.
4-Also add chopped green chilies and onions.
5-Fry them until they turn into golden color.
6-Now add turmeric, mashed potatoes, salt and fry well for few minutes.
7-Sprinkle some lemon juice, mix well and remove from heat.
8-Make small balls from the dough, roll into thin chapathi shape.
9-Cut the chapathi into two halves with a knife.
10In each half, place the above curry, try to roll into triangle shape and seal the edges with water.
11-Deep-fry in hot oil until they are golden brown in color.
Serve hot with any chutney.
