Quick Chicken Korma

Serving: 4 Preparation time: 35 mins Ingredients: Fresh ginger root: 1 1/2 Garlic: 6 cloves Vegetable oil: 6 tb Bay leaves: 3 Cinnamon stick: 2 Cardamom pods: 8 Cloves: 4 Black  seeds: 1/4 ts Onions: 4 1/2 oz Coriander: 1 tb: 1 tb Plum tomatoes: 3 Chicken pieces: 3 lbs Chilly powder: 1 ts or to taste Salt: 3/4 ts Single cream: 3 tb The Steps: Pre - Preparation : 1) Peel and chop the ginger and chop garlic coarsely. 2) Chop the onion fine and grind the  and coriander. 3) Chop the tomatoes, skin the chicken and cut into servings. Preparation : 1) Blend ginger, garlic and 3 tb water into smooth paste. 2) Put oil in wide frying pan and set over high heat. 3) When very hot, add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom pods, cloves and  seeds. 4) Stir and add onions. 5) Stir-fry for about 3 mins or until onions turn brownish. 6) Add paste from blender, ground coriander, ground  and fry for a minute. 7) Add chopped tomatoes and fry for another minute. 8) Add chicken, chilly powder, salt and 1 cup water. Bring to boil. 9) Cover, turn heat to medium and cook for 15 mins, turning chicken pieces over now and then. 10) Remove cover, add cream and cook on high heat for another 7-8 mins or until sauce thickened. Calories: 270 calories per serving.
