Onion coconut masala

Cooking Time : 20 Minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients:

2 big onions,
10 garlic cloves,
1 piece ginger,
2 teaspoon poppy seeds,
5 cloves,
2 cinnamon sticks,
1/2 cup grated dry coconut,
salt to taste

Method:

1. Slice onions. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan.
2. Add cinnamon, cloves, onions, poppy seeds, and coconut. Keep mixing.
3. When the mixture turns brownish, remove from the heat. Let cool and then grind into a fine paste.
This masala is hot and enhances the flavor of any veg/non-veg. curry or usual.
Best if used fresh.
Add 1 teaspoon peppercorns for variation.
