Golden Tycons
Cooking Time : 30-45 Minutes
Serves 4
Ingredients:
200 grams maize flour (polenta flour)
100 grams semolina
75 grams of atta flour (wheat flour)
100 grams grated cheese
50 grams of plain flour
50 grams of butter
¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
1 tea spoon ajwain seeds ( celery seeds)
Salt to taste
2 cups of luke warm water
Oil for shallow frying/ brushing
Garnish:
1 table spoon of sesame seeds
Method:
1-Place the maize flour, salt and butter in a mixing bowl and rub between the fingers.
2-Add the atta flour, semolina, plain flour, coriander leaves and ajwain seeds.
3-Add water in small quantities each time and knead to form a thick dough.
4-Make small balls about 1” in diameter and flatten between palms of the hand to form a patty.
5-Heat a fry pan and place one patty at a time.
6-Cook for 1 minute on each side and then brush with oil and cook for another 1 minute on each side to get a golden brown finish.
7-Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle sesame seeds on top as a garnish.
8-Serve hot along with tea/ coffee.
