Fish in Cream Gravy

Cooking time :  35 minutes

Serves 2-3

Ingredients:
For the gravy:
tomatoes (pureed) - 4
onion (finely chopped) -1
ginger-garlic paste - 1 ½ tsp
coriander powder - 2 tsp
cardamom powder - 1 tsp
red chilli powder - 1 tsp
sugar - a pinch
oil - 3 Tbl sp
water as required
salt to taste

For the fish:
Pomfrets (cleaned and washed) - 2
fresh cream - 4 Tbl.sp
juice of 1 lime
salt to taste

Method:

1-Heat the oil, add onions and fry the till golden brown.
2-Add ginger-garlic paste and other powder spices and fry for 3 minutes.
3-Add tomato puree and keep cooking till the oil separates.
4-Add sugar, salt and 250 ml water. Cook on a low flame till the gravy thickens.
5-Place the fish in a shallow oven dish. Mix the gravy and the cream together.
6-Add lime juice and keep mixing for a minute.
7-Pour over the fish and bake in a pre-heated oven at medium heat for about 20-25 minutes.
Serve hot.
