Bread Upma
Cooking time: 35 Minutes
Serves : 4-6
Ingredients :
3 slices fresh white bread
1 small onion (peeled washed n chopped),
2-3 green chillies (washed, de-seeded n chopped),
1/4 tsp-mustard seeds
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 sprig of curry leaves
1/2 tsp-fresh ginger (peeled n grated)
3/4 tsp oil
1/4 tsp salt
Method :
1-Remove the edges of the bread slices. Cube the slices n keep aside. Then heat oil in a pan. Toss in the mustard seeds, once the oil is hot, allow to splutter.
2-Add onion, ginger, chillies n curry leaves. Stir fry until onion turns golden brown. Mix in salt. Now very gently add bread cubes to the pan.
3-Sprinkle some water over the slices n cover with a lid. Cook for 8 mins. Uncover, squeeze in the fresh lemon juice.
4-Mix well cook uncovered for another 2-3 mins. Serve immediately hot. Sprinkle dhania leaves n enjoy.
